SGS were very lucky to be able to meet Andrew Lane on World Book Day, Thursday, 7 March. Andrew is one of the top most borrowed authors from the SGS library and has written several popular teen books including the Young Sherlock Holmes series and AWOL.

Andrew treated us to a lecture detailing the many different forms of Sherlock Holmes, as well as delivering workshops for a select group of students and sixth form Literature students. A number of students also managed to get a coveted signature in their own copies!

Alongside the day, all SGS students received a World Book Day voucher and Year 7s received a free book to take home. There was also a mystery treasure hunt around the school, taking inspiration from the Holmes-esque theme.

A big thank you to everyone who helped organise and run the day!
